Would like to know the purpose and impact of the "filter" option in the
file loading menu of World Circuit 1.05.
Thanks.

It simply restricts the display of files to those matching the type of
file you're loading. IE - if you're loading car setups, then filter
limits the display to setup files, etc. You can toggle the filter
option as desired.

If you select filter the file list on the left will show only the file types
that you have specified ie if you wanted to load a saved game you would only
see file types that were saved games.
It doesn't always work absolutely perfectly though. Sometimes you'll still get
the odd file which isn't exactly the right type.
BTW. I'm having trouble running a boot disk on my 486 dx2 66MHz PC. If I
don't use one then the game crashes due to an invalid protection fault. The
actual disk is fine but the PC moans about a non-system disk error. Does
anyone know how to fix this? As I said, there's nothing wrong with the
AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files on the floppy.
