Hi everybodey. Does anyone have a demo or pre-release version if this good Microprose game? Please post it.....
There probably won't be a demo until the full game is ready, since they're rushing to complete it in time for Xmas. By the way, if the game is so far behind still, how are they going to playtest it properly? Take your time guys, but make it good! Having said that, I want it now as well!!!!

Well reading in this newsgroup for about three months now , I think unfortunately that people here, are really dreaming for a release that I think , will not be out before next summer ! How many times I've seen a release date push back for a game ! I really think it's unfair for the people like us who's desperately waiting ! Geoff Crammond , the programmer of the game , maybe he doesn't want to be join by other programmers to help him , but MicroProse should consider adding some people around him to do the Job and release that baby that everyone here is waiting for ! And in that release , since things changes fast in the F1 world , it would be a real advantage to add a circuit designer , just take the case of that artificial chicane at EAU ROUGE , I think Geoff is really pist that they have bring that corner fast again (But not me !). Well Geoff , let me tell you that you will never be able to follow the changes , so I'm begging MicroProse to put some more people around you in that project and a track designer to F1GP2 is really a must , so let's hope we can see the finish thing before 2000 ! Too bad , cause I'm waiting too but , I really think F1GP is one of the best game ever , I mean it will be in the Hall of Fame of computer games for ever . - Mario Vive l'EAU ROUGE !

If that's so, I don't mind if the price is (a little) higher, just RELEASE it --------------------------------------- This message was brought to you by ---------------------------------------
Whoever said this obviously knows very little about computer programming - adding additional programmers at this late stage of development would almost certainly only serve to delay the release date further. People can't just turn on their machine and begin coding, you know - they have to have a firm knowledge of what the existing data structures are, and how to interact with them. -Brad -- * . . . . . .,___/--/|) **** http://www.cs.arizona.edu/ ** *./ ./ ./ ./ ./ ./ \_/ ()|/\\ *** people/traweek/traweek.html * * \ \ \ \ \ \_/`~---'\_/ *********************************

says... These can be shown mathimatically. If you have n people and the are all x% capable, then the project is (x^n)%. Since no one is 100%, it diverges from x. Example: Bill and Sue are both 98% capable. The project is 96.04% capable. If everyone has different %'s of capabilities, then the project's percent is the multiplication of the series. Aa I recall, GP2 was anounced YEARS ago as being released in April 1994, then Microprose told me probably winter 94-95 and then April 1995 and when I rang then they told me to call back in six months. I havent called back. You only have to look at the quality of any Crammond release to see that its only out when it is good and ready.

The effectiveness of people is computable ? It's predictable, but not 100% (about the same thought as calculating how many people would die at the beaches during D-Day). And based on what ? Question : A person, (for instance uncle Geoff), is 95% capable. If he does everything on his own, will the eventual project be 95% ? I guess not, especially if you talk in terms of quality and completing the job in time. Doing things parallel with equally or better skilled people will improve outcome and , but the necessary discussions (project control) will slow this down. So the question is (i think) "what is the relation between parallel tasking and control". --------------------------------------- This message was brought to you by ---------------------------------------

What does any of this have to do with F1GP2? Without trying to sound like Yogi Berra, the thing will come out when it comes out. I really don't think that reading "The Mythical Man Month" will speed up the release date of F1GP2. By the way, what's the latest news on the release of this highly-anticipated game?
