wanna get some better frame rates?
so upgrade your PC from 8 to 16Mb.
i just did it, with some 60ns (nanosec) chips.
some results:
- nascar, about 1/2 faster
- flight unlimited, about 1/3 faster, & the possibility to have 1024x768
- descent, about 1/3-1/2 faster (now smoothly with 640x400 on my P90 !!!)
- FS5.1, not better (why?)
- 3DStudio, 100%! faster!
- hioctane, 1/3 faster on 640x480
ect. ect. ect.
the upgrade from 16 to 24MB or more won't show same good increases.
an other idea would be to take from 24MB 8 out for a ramdisk, as a
temporary directory.----> a harddisc is still slower than RAM !
I already got a fast ELSA S3 864 2MB chip, and wouldn't get any same
performance increase with any better graphic card now on market.
