I've heard that changing the sound mode from Digital to FM will help with the performance of the game. Has anyone tried it? Did it help? How exactly do you change the setting? Mark

On my 486/66, I can run VGA with most of the features turned on, when I run with FM sound. (Ooooo, to run SVGA with ANY features turned on...!) And you know what? I actually LIKE the sounds more in FM mode. :) -- David A. Byerman Independent Management Consultant Specializing in Transportation and Environmental Policy Issues
Dunno... but my 486 is as fast as a friend's Pentium because I have a Gravis Ultrasound and he has a Soundblaster. My sound is better and I have the maximum "heard" setting. He had to trim the setting. Ultrasound's use very little CPU even with full digital sound and it's better than the 8-bit/16-bit mono/stereo sound from a SB. So anyway, it's perfectly reasonable that switching to FM sound would speed up a Soundblaster equipped system.

If I type in nascar -f, I can't load the game in svga, if I type in nascar -h, how do I get it to load up in fm only?
