I have a Pentium (60 mhz) with 8 meg RAM. I'm thinking of getting
NASCAR Racing, and I'd like to know some things. How smooth does it
run? (VGA and SVGA mode) Any problems with the game crashing or
unusual happenings? I know it comes on CD, but does it have to run from
the CD to play SVGA mode. (I'm wondering because I know people with
486DX2/66 w/ 8 meg RAM that can't get the thing to run in SVGA.)
I'm running Nascar on a Pentium (90 mhz) with no problems at all. As far
as SVGA mode, it is not a problem as long as you have enough RAM. SVGA
can be run from the hard drive, once you install from the CD you don't
need to worry about using it again. I hope this helps.

I have a P90 with 32 MB of RAM, which I'd expect is "enough", and it's
definitely NOT running "no problems at all" in SVGA mode. I have a Zeos
P90 with an ATI graphics adapter, and when I turn everything on, my frame
rate is about TWO frames per second. (Compared to about 1/2 frame per sec
on my 486DX2-66.) I'm running from the hard disk, too. I have a pretty
tough time *racing* (not just tooling around) with everything turned off
except car and road textures when I select SVGA mode. (ALthough, come to
think of it, I haven't turned off the digital sound, which might be a big
part of the problem.)

BTW, how do you test the computer to get these scores? I'd like ot know
what my machine is capable of.

Yeah, I think thats a good idea, How do you test it? Is it for
Pentiums only?
