OK, so I downloaded the v1.2 patch, placed the file in the Nascar
directory and ran the installation. However, when I run Nascar my
system tells me I'm running v1.1 (as the game loads prior to the game
intro).
I've been running the program from the v1.1 CD-Rom. Do I need to do a
complete hard disk load of the program in order to use v1.2 or have I
done something wrong in applying the 1.2 patch?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
There are several ways to tell unquestionably if you're running the
1.2 patch. For example, (1) dial up a friend - if you see a clock in
the corner indicating how long you've been connected, you're running
1.2... or, easier: (2) Go to Talladega or Darlington and see if there
are new standard ACE setups (called ACE12 I believe).

And perhaps the easiest way of all: Look at the screen while the game loads.
If it says 'Version 1.2' after the DOS/4GW stuff, draw your own conclusions.
