I just downloaded patch.zip from didnt.doit.wisc.edu and it says it can't
find the indy.dat file. I was just wondering where I might find the whole
patch, paintkit included. Any sites would be a major help.

Hidden in a nother directory you can find this text file that explains
what's going on;
--------------------------
Drivers:
Here is a couple hints on installing the patch for Indianapolis. Copy the
file PATCH.EXE to the C:\Indycar\tracks\indy directory. Now type PATCH. I
would recommend doing this from dos, although it can be done through
windows
also.
Now, working from memory, I believe you may get a message "cannot find
file
INDY.RTP. File not updated". At this point the patch.exe file has
inflated to
create a file called INDY.RTP. You now need to rename this file PATCH.RTP.
From dos type REN INDY.RTP PATCH.RTP . Now type patch again and the update
should proceed.

This is exactly what happens - and it works.
