I just picked up a Thrustmaster T1 to use with Indycar. However, when I attach
it to my game port, I don't get any steering response. I believe that the
problem is I don't have a dual port game card, which the manual says is a
requirement. It also mentions about having to possible disable other game ports.
I have the standard game port and a game port on my Soundblaster 16 card.
Any suggestions on a dual port game card? What is everyone using? Is the
Thrustmaster ACM card any good?
Second, is it likely that I can just plug in the new game card without having
to***around with the other game card or the Soundblaster card?
Thanx.

Did you set the controls so that it listens to the wheel? A very silly
mistake but I've made it more than once as I switched equipment around.
The SB16 does have a dual-port circuit, which is what's required.
I've used a Cardinal Jazz, a SoundBlaster AWE-32, and the ACM.
The ACM is a *very* good card.
It is 100% unlikely, since they share the same control register addresses.

to be used with a single port adapter. I use it that way on my Soundblaster and
it hasn't given me any trouble. The side benefit is that the wheel and pedals can
be used for other games that don't have support for a dual port card. If you didn't
get the adapter, contact Thrustmaster. I would think they would be more than happy
to oblige.
Once you have the adapter, disable the other card and you should be just fine.

Thanx to all who helped with the T1 setup! :) I finally got it working.
I'm considering building a mock-up of a tub and installing the T1 in it.
Should be interesting! :)
