No matter what configureation I use in setup.exe for my music, I get
one of 2 things: horrible noise or nothing.
If I play tracks 2 or 3 straight from the cd, it works & I hear music.
I have a Sounds Easy pro 16 sound card. Configured to I/O 220 IRQ5 DMA1.
For the sound I simply choose the SoundBlaster 8, mono or stereo,
(it works on both).
But have tried every choice for the music... With the port set at 401,
I can choose some of the 5 choices, but only horrible noise comes out...
Where or how do I get the proper settings... I want to HEAR the
announcer!!

Debbie, I was also about to ask the same quesiton. Although I get the
sound of the cars and the announcer in the first 10 seconds of the game,
that's all I get. I tried using the Soundblaster Pro 16 bit Stereo but I
get NOTHING. The only way I get anything is by using the Soundblaster 8
Stereo.
Anybody got any suggestions?

The music is only during the intro. The announcer was initially an option
but Papyrus took it off the retail version. It'll probably be included
in an expansion pack. SB 8 is the only thing that works for NASCAR in
sound blaster mode, evidently, as nobody can get SB 16 to work.

Sounds to me like Papyrus was glad to accept 50-60 bucks from consumers
for a program that they should have taken the time to get right first.
Heck, the need for the version 1.1 patch already proved that. I certinly
hope that when the do get it all running properly, they will be doing a
one for one CD swap with their customers.

I got a SB16, and I got it to work with the SB16 settings. Sounds awesome!!!
The fm sounds suck though.
