Flame warTroll post praising Bush starts political argument

An anonymous poster declared George W. Bush the best US president and accused Europeans of surrendering to media lies. Most replies mocked the troll, with jokes about GPLRank and the West brothers, but Mitch_A, David G Fisher and others argued at length about terrorism, Iraq and weapons of mass destruction, with some insults.

It sickens me to see the liberal Europeans surrender (like the French) to the media and believe the lies propagated against President Bush, the only leader who has the guts to stand up to Terror.

We have something called "terrorist mommies" here in the U.S. They are a target group Bush has done a great job of scaring into voting for him. His three years of constantly uttering "weapons of mass destruction" and "terrorists" have scared these gullible soccer moms into thinking their little brats are going to be blown up any minute now. -- David G Fisher

And can someone let me know if we are on orange alert, red, dark red or super-frickin'-over-the-top-red?
They are called security Mom's and they only have to do with GWB in so much they know he'll protect them (as much as possible) from future terrorists attacks and know Kerry does not and will not based on his 35+ years of anti-war rhetoric. This group is a metaphor and is not a target of the Bush camp but rather a logical grouping of people with common sense and a firm grasp of reality that realize GWB is the ONLY choice for President in 2004. Oh come on, Mitch! The terrorist threat is nothing like as bad as the propaganda would have us all believe. It's all about the far right inventing monsters and promising to protects us from them. It's the oldest trick in the book. It's what made religion so popular.

Snipped. So, in other words, before the "war on terror" people liked to blow each other up for causes they saw as just, no matter where on the planet they were, and since 9/11 nothing has changed? Or is it that all the terrorists are holed up in Iraq and Afganistan now? And GWB is gonna fix it? Sorted. I feel better now.
And (of the Muslim attacks you listed) Muslims will say that those are just responses to attacks such as each of the 10,000+ bombs and missles that they view as individual terrorist attacks on a country like Iraq launched by the US which just killed 1000,000 of their people. They will say the US has been terrorizing their people for decades. As an example, Iranians will say that the US called Saddam our friend, gave Saddam chemical weapons, and helped Saddam use those weapons against their people. All 100% true. The US then turns around and calls Saddam a madman a handful of years later. Bush in his speaches scares the most gullible and uninformed of the American people (and there are a lot of them -- 83% of Americans couldn't even find Iraq on a map even though the first civilization began there 4,000 years ago) by pointing out how Saddam used chemical weapons, but conveniently doesn't remind people in those same speaches how *we* gave them to him, encouraged him to use them, and assisted him in using them against Iranian soldiers. That makes him and us, f**ken liars. Every single time he made that reference to Saddam in all those speaches, and didn't mention his daddy's and Rumsfeld's help, he was *lying*. No WMD found in Iraq. Says it all really. How about North Korea? Weren't they planning a pre-emptive (nuke?) attack against US because they felt that they were threatened by the US. Would you say they would've had a just cause to do this? BTW, why is the former Iraqi president always referred to as Saddam? I haven't seen other presidents mentioned by their first name only in the media. -- - Jussi Koukku -
