I should make it clear right about now, that I'm not a games player in general, and I've only got a 286 that I use to run telix to my unix machine. OK? Got that out of the way 8). My Brother in law has a Packard Bell 486DX33 machine. (Pro audio spectrum sound card, joystick disabled). He only this afternoon bought a Thrustmaster F1 joystick. Problem. When we start nascar with the thrustmaster plugged in, the selection bar scrolls upwards madly, and it takes deft banging of the enter key to hit Options/Calibrate Joystick 1. Is this 1. A Bug, 2. A problem with the Thrustmaster or 3. Problem with the machine? I should point out that we have the little adaptor thingo plugged in as the joystick port doesn't support 2 joysticks.. : Problem. When we start nascar with the thrustmaster plugged in, : the selection bar scrolls upwards madly, and it takes deft banging : of the enter key to hit Options/Calibrate Joystick 1. I will respond via this posting as it my benefit others. I understand that you NEED a dual port joystick card. If the adaptor is for that then perhaps you should disconnect the T1 until you select the 'calibrate joystick' option. It may behave itself after that.

No, actually, the problem is with yours truly being stupid enough not to RTFM. The joysick port I have (I'll say 'mine' , but it is actually my brother-in-laws machine..) is on the motherboard, and is only a single port one. The little adaptor (male 15pin/female 15pin converts the F1 to one-joystick mode) works fine. All I needed to do was push 'J' to turn off joystick usage until I calibrated it. *D'oh*. But, with that done, it's perfect. Nascar is doubleplusgood 8-) --Rob -- Robert Thomas | Phone :2-561-9825 (VM) | Insert Gratuitous Open Systems Consultant | A.H. :2-675-3495 | Plug for my services Amdahl Corp, Australia | Mobile:0414-THOMAS (846627) | Here. --> * ----------------Please note new VANITY Mobile Phone number------------------
