It appears that moving from version 1.00 to 1.02 of ICR has caused me to
lose the texture on the road surface. F3 doesn't do anything. Is this
because I have but 4 megs of RAM, or is there some problem here?

Yes, the version 1.02 is only for 4 MEG machines. It takes away the
grass texturing and aome other details ( not fixable from the options menu )
so that you can load ALL of the tracks and not get an OUT OF MEMORY
message.
