Indycar works fine on my system except when it comes to the start of
the race. Either 1) I can't accelerate at all and I just sit there, or
2) I accelerate automatically and have no control of gas or brake and
I crash.
This happened on version 1.00 and 1.02. I am using a joystick to steer
and rudder pedals for brake and gas. This happens even with no
config.sys file. I have a 386 25Mhz with 4Meg of memory.
Everything else works fine! I have full control of the car during
practice, qualifying and warmup. The only strange behavior occurs at
the start of the race (and I can't race because of it). This same
strange behavior happens with or without the "drive pace lap" option on.
After playing with this, I think the problem is tied to using the
rudder pedals. If I set up the joystick buttons as brake and gas, it
seams to work ok. I hope to find a way to use the rudder pedals (they
work fine in every other part of the game). Maybe there will be
another patch. It seams funny that there would be an add for the
Thrustmaster steering/shifter/brake/gas and that the game doesn't work
with pedals.
Has anyone else seen this? If so, do you know of a work around that
allows the pedals to be used?
Thanks
