500mhz celeron any good for N3

are they any good for N3 if so what motherboard to go with it? Thanks
Sure they are good. If my Celeron 300a @ 450 is good, this one should be even better. If you get Abit's latest, the BE-6 and get good PC-100 or PC-133 memory (expensive these days) you should be able to overclock it to 600+. > are they any good for N3 > if so what motherboard to go with it? > > Thanks > > Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

no.. there's no way you'll be able to overclock it to 600. The best motherboard is a Soyo 6BA+III. It has some extra FSB speeds that the ABIT doesn't have. I originally was running my Celeron 500 on a ABIT BH6 overclocked to 563MHz... then I read about the Soyo 6BA+III and now I can overclock it to around 585MHz. To reach 600... you just have to be lucky enough to find a very well made CPU.. and only a Soyo motherboard will let you use 81 fsb speed. Don't get PC-133. There's no way you are going to reach 100fsb so PC-100 memory isn't really needed either. But nonetheless, you'll want to replace your Celeron.. so if you get PC-133 memory, you are guaranteed to keep it longer than your CPU most likely. <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:7u4pui$m5r$[email hidden]...
