I agree completely. Also, it allows you to check the effects on the wheel on the fly by checking out the profiler. But one thing is funny. After automatic calib of theLWFF wheel, my wheel was not centered anymore. So I adjusted it using the tweak software. Everything was ok, but, when I get into real racing (F1RS) it's exactly where it was before tweaking:off centered. So there is something more than just tweaking. sandor Steve Blankenship <[email hidden]> schreef in berichtnieuws [email hidden]... > DXTweak is a lovely utility from the guys at www.wingmanteam.com thatallows > you to "tweak" the max, min, center and deadzone values of your game > controller in dinput.dll. DXTweak is a lovely utility from the guys at www.wingmanteam.com that allows you to "tweak" the max, min, center and deadzone values of your game controller in dinput.dll. It alters the values generated during calibration and can be used to make a wheel or joystick more or less sensitive than you could ordinarily make it with calibrating tricks or software profilers. You can also reduce or remove the default Windows deazone, which is a must for using ANY wheel. All in all, a necessary item in your sim-racing toolkit! Cheers, Steve B. Hi, What is DXTweak and where can i get it? Thanks Cibb
Very interesting; I find the DXTweak changes quite significant. However, I'm not using the profiler; just drivers-only. I believe the profiler overrides the dinput values, so that may explain the difference. As to what DZ values correspond to low, medium, and high in the profiler, I'm sure a query to the folks at www.wingmanteam.com will answer that. Cheers, Steve B. Steve, DXTweak and the profiler still confuse me. DXTweak actually does nothing at all to my wheel response in GPL, with direct input at least. I can set the deadzone to 50%, and it has no effect. The Profiler sure does though. I sure wish the LT Profiler had better control over the deadzone. Low appears to be 0%, while medium is huge. I am used to driving with 2% dead zone, and I think the 0% setting is what screws me up when I use the Profiler. I've also noticed that DXTweak does nothing for GPL. (also by setting a killer deadzone :-)). Go to http://home.att.net/~stickworks/ and get CTFJ. This proggy definately works with GPL. And yes.., I've dropped the profiler, since I couldn't find a perfectly linear, zero deadzone setting, which also let me use the full travel of the LWFF.
