Does it die when you click "Race" or when you click "Go to Track?" If it dies when you click "Go to Track", I'd say your sound card would be the culprit, as that's the first time sound is initialized. What kind of hardware (sound and video cards) are in your system? This past tuesday, i bought NASCAR 3, installed it, and discovered that when i clicked the button "go to race" button, the game closes and it goes back to the desktop. So, i called the sierra technical support line and discovered that my video and/or sound drivers are out of date (btw, my computer is Compaq pe225 mhx pentium, 64 mb ram, 8x cd rom, and was bought this past january). The guy from sierra suggested a site to to update the driver. To my surpise, there were 6 different files i had to download, and i installed all of them, and still, the game didnt work. So, i then called my friend who suggested to download DirectX 7. Downloaded it and installed it, and ithe game still didnt work. So i called back sierra and they suggested directX 6. Downloaded it and installed it, and the game still didnt work. then , i decided to call compaq, who INSISTED that it was sierras responsibility to get the correct drivers for me. i called back sierra, and they said the same thing. So, i am stuck without the correct drivers. I have been anticipating this game for months now, and have all the system specs, but yet the game still wont work even after lots of time on the phone with technitions. Is there any solution anyone would know of that would get it to work. help would be VERY appreciated thanx

Hi Big, I there were a couple of suggestions in the readme text file. Try setting your desktop to 640x480x16 and running the game at 640x480. Try 800x600x16 if 640 fails. Using a V2 my program exits and takes a few moments to come back, but it does work. I'm using the Quake3 drivers from 3Dfx. What video card are you using? You might even try the software renderer. You also may want to check the readme file - something about delay upon switching of resolutions can be set in the .ini file. Not sure the syntax exactly but its explained in the readme file. bigdunn wrote:
