You don't see the full four wheel drift that often, but they are still "twitchy" -
the back end will come around with too sudden acceleration, etc.

Looks a bit arcade like to me. Can't see any in car screenshots.

The video made it look like the car was on rails. I didn't see any evidence of
drifting, sliding, or any tire squeal at all. Maybe modern F1 cars are like
that, I don't know. The video didn't make it look much like a sim though. But
then, it's hard to tell much from a video.

The folks over at dailyf1.com forum seem to love it.

The game is pure arcade, no sim whatsoever. I recieved an advanced copy of it.
Graphically it is ok, but no physics modeled.
It's probably fairly similar to F1'98. And my comments. It is truly the
best console sim out there. I loved F1'98. I only wish they'd try again
for a PC version (they tried 2-3 years ago with no success).

have BAR and Malaysia.

It's F1 '99...that's all. It's the one after F1, F1 '97, and F1 '98 on
the PSX. Only '97 got crossed over to the PC - and probably a good
thing, because it was crap on PC. F1 '97 was quite a good game on the
PSX - marginally better than F1, but F1'98 was AWFULL (I took it back
the next day - not something I have done since, or before). Unless they
stood back and realised how crap '98 was - the '99 will be crap to.
Just go and get F1 '97 for the PSX - it's now really cheap - and still
the best of the bunch. Don't forget to pick up CMR and TOCA 2 whilst
you're there....both FANTATIC fun on the PSX....
In the absence of any other Motoring games newsgroups - I DO NOT FEEL
this is OT..

Oh man, this game truly sucks. The physics are really very bad,
control with my lwff is terrible (I can't even drive in a straight
line) and the graphics are not really spectaculair. Monaco GP from
Ubisoft is way better and more realistic than this game. And that sais
enough :)
Shame.

Don't bother,it's quite probably the worst F1 game I've ever played.I'm just
grateful for EB's 10 day returns policy.

are you able to tell drifting or sliding
from actual F1 footage ?
I certainly could not.
except maybe the occasional low angle
shots.
any case, Psynosis is not known for sims
I doubt they intended this as a sim.
The website shows Psynosis was not too e***d
about this product too.......

I can certainly see Schumacher drifiting a GREAT deal from the right
angle of camera shot, and even more so when I watch the British Grand
Prix from either Copse corner, or Luffielf corner...
And the F1 -9x series are good games...but they're not realistic, just
fun...

Of course, only if you like unrealistic games, otherwise they just suck,
don't they?
