I have been playing this game for a week now, I have started 4 different
seasons with 4 different teams, ranging from Williams to Sauber and
every race about quarter of the way in both cars develop rear wing
problems. This usual ends up with both cars either retiring or having so
many pit repairs to render them totally uncompetitve. Surely, not every
team would have exactly the same problem. Has anyone else experienced a
similar problem?
Is it a bug?
If not any ideas how to avoid the problem? During the race it says it is
caused by engine vibration, but when I do testing all I have been able
to upgrade is front or rear wings, which take about four or five races
to design and build.

I had this at first with Ferrari.. but managed to stop it by
decreasing
Kerb use to 2 squares
If you want your cars to finish the race intact, try
Acceleration OOOOO (adjust according to tyre wear)
Braking OOOOO (as above)
Top Speed OOOOOOOO (adjust according to engine wear)
Kerb use OO (or 3 squares maybe)
Off racing line OOOO (tyres again)
Line defence OOOOO
O/T position OOOOO
O/T backmarkers OOOO
I got a Ferrari 1-3 at Australia and a 1-2 at Brazil :O)

It's related to the rigidity of your engine. If your engine is not rigid it
rattles under heavy revving and makes the rear wing (which is attached to
it) break. The only solution is to either: develop a more rigid engine,
reduce acceleration, top speed and kerb use, don't put drivers on flying
laps or preferably all three.
It is helpful to use all the statistics available on driver, tyre, fuel,
engine and circuit before setting driver orders and set up and will save a
lot of time in the long run.
I have taken my own advice and it hasn't happened since.

hmmm, had this happen once to my in my so far 5 year career with Jordon.
Even though I have mist of driving orders maxed out during the race, Ive
only had it happen once.
Current as of 2003
80+ million in cash + 20 invested
58 million in sponsorship for 2003
Fishichella and Wurz as drivers (wont pay more than 5 million in drivers)
Mercedes engines
Goodyear tires
Shell fuel
Tire, Engine, and Fuel works deals
All facilities (minus wind tunnel)
Reduced staffing to 50 each
Not doing too shabby. No I dont fastforward the races, and no I dont
hex-edit the save files for cash. First 2 years were a struggle, but been
kicking butt since. In 2002 took 1 & 2 in drivers points, and won owners
championship by 38 points.

Okay so my explanation is misleading... but I found it was
kerb use that had more of an effect than the acceleration
and braking... you mentioned all three of them, I reduced
acceleration and braking by 1 click and curb use by 3-4
clicks and it worked for me at race 2...
Race 1 my rear wing started to go at half race distance
but I was so far in front that I managed to nurse the car
home!
:O)
