Care to elaborate on this, because I disagree with you entirely -- the
game is still on my hard drive, and it gets played semi-regularly. The
AI was lacking in the "I" department, but the physics engine responded
well to real-world chassis tweaks, and with a properly dialed-in setup,
handling was very similar to ICR2 (maybe better in some ways, because
the game also somewhat duplicates the IRL's lift-throttle tail-snap
tendencies). Plus, the cars could get somewhat airborne, proving some
advanced physics modeling.
It's true that the AI was a problem, and the lack of any realistic (and
visible) damage model really detracted from the overall product, but IF
Disney hadn't folded their electronic entertainment division (which is
where the "ABC Sports" product came from), this game could have evolved
into something truly enjoyable -- in fact, I'd say it was one patch
away from greatness, but, alas, that patch never emerged.
Also FWIW, if you hvae ABC Sports Indy Racing AND N3, you might notice
that except for the "Pagoda-under-construction," the N3 Indianapolis
track doesn't really improve upon what we saw in the ABC Sports Indy
Racing game from waaaay back in '97. In fact, the ABC Sports Indy
Racing game features full fence mesh details in the graphics, while N3
gives us little more than poles and, uh, cable?
FYI, I developed a steering utility that greatly improves the game's
steering response (it's horrible non-linear). If you haven't tried ABC
Indy Racing with my steering utility, I'd recommend downloading it at:

Give it a try if you haven't done so already. I can't do anything
about the AI or the damage model, but if the ABC Sports people had done
a "Friends of ABC Sports" deal like the "Friends of ISI" did for SCGT,
we might all still be singing the praises for ABC Indy Racing.
I will admit that ABC Indy Racing was probably rushed to market given
the non-existent AI and damage modeling, but it's definitely NOT the
"ultimate worst racing game ever." Trust me, you could do MUCH worse.

Nascar Revolution was very bad, but I played it for 5 minutes
before deleting it. Dick something V8 Challenge was literally deleted
