Just delete it and move on. I don't think this guy is particularly malicious... just not very considerate of other forum posters. He's obviously gleaning addresses from this NG and spamming them. Such is life. I used to get all worked up about stuff like this... but really, what's the point. Just delete it an move on. The world is full of spamming morons, and always will be. Fact of life, IMO. You cannot change it, so just adapt to it, ya know? cheer up. It matters not. hammer Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
Unless they use some method I'm not aware of, the only way to get a spammer to "supposedly" remove you from their list is to give them your correct email address to begin with. Of course, most spammers will then use your verified email address and sell it to other spammers. I HIGHLY recommend AGAINST EVER replying to spam. Don't let them know they've "found" you. Gunner

For the second day running I've received SPAM from http://www.fantasyspeedway.com. This is is starting to piss me off. Has anyone else got this or am I the only lucky person here? What's the best way to get them to stop? I don't really want to acknowledge receipt of the message as that could open up a whole can of worms. Cheers Phil -- http://www.youpies.co.uk

Instead, you should look for a spam blocker, such as Spammer Slammer, or even the Pop3 Scan Mailbox. The filters in those will help reduce the spam which reaches you and some programs will even reply to the spammer informing them that your account has not received the message. Their bots will then remove you from their spam list, when of course, your e-mail address remains perfectly fine.

The spammer will almost certainly get his account pulled (not that this will bother him because he'll just go get another "disposable" account to send his stuff from...), sites with lax security on their mail relays will be politely asked to sort themselfs out (and will run the risk of being "blacklisted" if they fail to comply), and ISPs that get a lot of abuse reports will, eventually tighten up their registration procedures to make life more difficult for would-be-spammers. -- JG
