I am desperately trying to setup a dedicated GPL Server using GPL 1.2 and WinVROC 2.1 Here is the situation: Currently have the game installed on dedicated system local IP=192.168.1.220 This system is linked to an ASCEND T1 router with IP of 192.168.1.250 via an ethernet network. I have setup the host system to GATEWAY to the router IP port so I have full access to Web and VROC. I really haven't done anything with CORE.INI or VROC.INI files yet. If I launch VROC in HOST mode I can see the server running on a client copy of VROC but the light is orange and nobody can ping. Does anybody know what is going on or can you point me to some instructions that make more sense than the readme file that came with GPL 1.1 that was written by an engineer at AT&T - that thing is as readable as Egyptian hieroglyphics. reply here or to [email hidden] Thanks in advance.

I've been in the VROC chatroom for over 14 hours the past 2 days. They are either all talking in GERMAN or ignoring my frequent requests for help. That's why I came here.

Hi, Since it seems nobody has replied yet - You appear to be on a private network, the 192.168 gives that away. Therefore, unless you have some rather sohpisticated gateway software that maps ports on your 'real' connection IP address to a private network host, you're not going to be able to host any races, period. You'll need a real IP address directly connected to the internet to do that.
