Way to go Glenn! Feels great doesn't it? Nothing like having that newspaper hanging on the wall with your name and photo on it! Now you need to get one online<g> -- don "Getting hit by a meteorite is an accident... everything else is driver-error." This may not be a big deal to you all, but after 3 months, I did it! Qualified 2nd at Monza, beat Black Jack to the first turn and led all the way, despite several anxious moments, sucking air through my teeth on the last lap. Only at novice level, but boy, this sim is brilliant. Glenn
Congratulations! Now do it at GP level for a full-distance race. :-) -- Regards, Bruce Kennewell, Canberra, Australia. --------------------------- Glenn Andressen <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > This may not be a big deal to you all, but after 3 months, I did it! > Qualified 2nd at Monza, beat Black Jack to the first turn and led all > the way, despite several anxious moments, sucking air through my teeth > on the last lap. > Only at novice level, but boy, this sim is brilliant. > > Glenn

I know you added a smiley, Bruce, but this kind of response is why GPL fans have such a bad image on this newsgroup. I've been GPL'ing for 4 months, without getting even close to winning a race, and I think Glenn deserves an unreserved "attaboy!". I just saw it as a reminder of GPL's greatest asset... that there's always another, higher mountain to climb when you reach every peak. I can't really believe anyone could read that as critical even without a smiley! But then there's always somebody ready to say how offended other people will be. In the UK we call it the Mary Whitehouse effect :-) Andrew McP

But wouldn't winning a GP level race be a GREATER thrill? I say, onwards and upwards! BTW, Bruce *did* congratulate the man... Eldred -- Tiger Stadium R.I.P. 1912-1999 Own Grand Prix Legends? Thank you. Eldred, we don't say "attaboy" down here. we say "Congratulations!"
