Peter, No help here I'm afraid, but my system is exactly the same, but a PIII 800 and I have the same transparency problems. Yes, the text window is asking for confirm to exit, according to the manual. If you find any solution to this other than via here, I'd be grateful to here form you, Martyn www.mtb-routes.co.uk Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Hi all, Having bougt my copy of F1 2000 this morning I have been attempting to get to grips with it for an hour or so tonight but just can't handle seeing these damn transparent tires. Also, when in the car pressing escape brings up a window which on my pc is also transparent. I assume it is just asking me to confirm that I want to exit the session, becaue if I press Return it takes me to the screen with the garage, exit, next session, etc icons... can anyone confirm that for me?? So anyway, has anyone managed to find a way to get rid of the transparent tires?? My system:- PIII 600 128mb RAM 32mb Nvidia TNT2 Ultra Initially I am quite dissapointed as the framerate in a race is apalling, I know there are a few tweaks that are flying around so i'll give them a go before giving my proper views, but until I can solve the tires issue I really can't begin to enjoy it. Cheers Peter Hooper

What drivers are you using for the TNT card. I had the same problem, but solved it by installing the 3.77 drivers. Unfortunately for me, frame rate takes a nose dive in most other games using these drivers as opposed to older 2.xx drivers.

Thats what I was worried about... everything else runs fine so I am really reluctant to mess with the drivers. If I do is it easy to revert to the older drivers?? And how do I find out what driver version I am using. If I go to properties from the desktop it tells me the BIOS version is 2.05.13 is this the drivers? Using DxDiag it says 4.11.01.0216 (English) Anyone offer any help? Many thanks Peter Hooper Intimidator <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Just in case anyone else is still suffeing from this transparent tires problem with the TNT2 card I have found the solution to be to download some newer drivers for the card. I got the Detonator 3.68 drivers from Nvidia's site (www.nvidia.com) and these are working perfectly with my system. As a result my framerates has also improved quiet a bit, probably due to the fact that not so much of the track has to be drawn now that the tires are not see through. If you go to http://www.reactorcritical.com/download.shtml they have an archive of drivers from 2.08 up to the latest 5.08 versions so hopefully one of these will work for most people. Hope this is of some help to somebody. Cheers Peter Hooper Martyn <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8bgs3b$qpa$[email hidden]...
