My point is that the box says it doesn't support Win2K.
Surely you don't dispute that.. do you, Michael?
You seem ... bitchy tonight, but you're cute when you're mad.

Nothing's up with me. There are people using Win2K that have
problems w/f1-2000. Since it clearly states on the bottom of the box
that it doesn't support Win2K, I'm just surprised that it runs at all.
Aren't you?

Agreed, but I am accustomed to it now, and it isn't
a huge problem.

I guess you haven't taken the time to read the many posts
associated with this problem. You need -different- drivers
for your video card.

To me, it sounds pretty fine on a pair of headphones.

But we shouldn't need to do all this. Should have tested better in the
first place - AI problems, braking over sensitive ( have you tried
pumping the brakes? ) transparant tyres, invisible text when windows
pop up, corrupt graphics if you change settings in race, flashing
screen when using 1024x768, crap sound.
Having said all that, I did enjoy running a few laps at Australia, but
if I'm to use the in race menus ( pit board stuff ) , then I need to be
able to read the text, not guess what is trying to be displayed.
Looks to me as though it was rushed out to beat GP3 release.
Well at least my shop has a no quibble return as it's going back
tomorrow.

Before you buy.
It's all in the setups. Try Monza with defaults, and the AI cars shoot past
on straights. then load up the 'speed' setting, and you'll match them easily
at 95% - 212mph on the main straight!
F1 2000 is getting better as more people are finding little tweaks.
Iain
Your right Iain.... The AI uses the default setups for almost every track...
Open the file \Season00\game.gdb in a tekst editor and you will see:
F1_Circuit_AI_Race_Setup
{
Albert Park = default.svm
Interlagos = default.svm
Imola = default.svm
Silverstone = default.svm
Circuit de Catalunya = default.svm
Nurburgring = default.svm
Monaco = grip.svm
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve = default.svm
Magny-Cours = default.svm
A1-Ring = default.svm
Hockenheim = speed.svm
Hungaroring = default.svm
Spa-Francorchamps = speed.svm
Monza = speed.svm
Indianapolis = default.svm
Suzuka = default.svm
Sepang = default.svm
}
You can create setups for the AI so they behave better... Something which is very much needed :)

Have you tried a suggestion sent to me recently? 'In your F12K directory go
to season00\vehicles you will see a file named default.vhs. Open this with
any text editor (notepad) and scroll down till you see Controls header then
look for Braking_Ratio=(9220.2) or close to this and reduce to 6000 or so
then save. go back into game
and try it to see if its to your liking. Adjust as nessasary to suit.'

I have no problems like these at all. As rrevved says check your video
drivers.

Revv... He wasn't refering to setups but to tweaking the AI, carphysics etc.
What's up with you? You're acting like a yerk last few days accusing
everybody of using win2k..

I am running it on Win98 and I have issues with the program..... It's

This has been done to death revved why don't you give it up? It doesn't
matter what 'it says on the box' F1 2000 (like most other racing sims) works
as well under W2K as W98. No i'm not surprised ot works, most games do. W2K
has DX7 support OOTB and sound and video drivers from the top manufacturers,
why shouldn't games work?
As I've said before, the reason F1 2000 says it doesn't support it is
because the tech support guys won't know enough about it at the moment.
My ISP 'doesn't support' MS IE, only Netscape, but I still use IE.
Please give up on this W2K thing. try it yourself first.

The graphics problems you mentioned were cured on my system by getting the
latest drivers for my card (TNT2). Also increased the framerate too.
