If you're doing a clockwise spin, crank the wheel LEFT at the halfway point. Your front wheels will do the work to bring you around again. Just make sure you are going somewhat fast or it won't work. Also, make sure you rotate in the direction of the arrows, otherwise it doesn't count! I was doing donuts in between the cones and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong until I tried a 360 the OTHER way and it gave it to me. Having a blast w/ NFS:PU, --mK

I'm not sure I remember the exact procedure, but I believe that when the nose of the car starts to move through the 180 degree part of your spin, you need to crank your wheel to the LEFT (yes, the left, not right); this provides LESS sliding tire resistance because it allows the tire to roll (rather than slide) as it essentially moves backwards through the final 180 degrees of your 360 degree spin. Like I said, I can't remember the exact point where you should crank the wheel because it's mainly "muscle memory" and hand-eye coordination for me, but this works. Also, I drive in manual transmission mode, and I drop down to 1st gear and lift off the throttle as I begin my slide, and I *think* I get back on the throttle near the end of the spin. Hope this helps a bit -- and I hope you're having as much fun as I am! Great game, eh? <G> -- JB In article <39WE4.43609$[email hidden]>, "Aaron Menchions" <[email hidden]> wrote: > How the hell do I spin my car 360 degrees in the FActory drivermission? Make sure you're doing the 360 the right way, too. If you don't follow the direction of the arrow, you won't get credit. When I was first trying it, like an idiot I was driving up to the right side of the cones and turning in to the left. The arrow was clearly showing to do it the other way. How the hell do I spin my car 360 degrees in the FActory driver mission? I have tried and tried and I guess my experience with a Geo Metro isn't helping. :-) I can do 180's all day, but can't get the other half. I go, slam the brakes and emerg brake while hauling right, and the car just does a half loop! Any pointers for a bad driver? :)

I asked the exact same question a while ago (don't worry, not on this NG) and got a very detailed response, including a diagram. I won't post the diagram, since this is not a binary NG, but here is the basic explanation: Do exactly what you are doing, but as soon as you get to 180, crank the wheel all the way the other way (left if you want to do a right-hand spin), downshift to first (assuming you were in second going in, which you should be), and floor the gas. Basically, after 180 degrees if you don't turn the wheels, they will tend to rotate the car back the way you started. By turning them the other way, you will make the car complete the spin. Go out on the skidpad and try it a lot (don't worry about getting it between the cones), and soon you'll be fine. Then you just have to get it between the cones (length, not width, is the trick). Soon you'll be able to do it in a GT1. It looks great in the replay too :) Hope this helps. Marc

First, start to turn the car to the right just before you hit the hand brake. Once you hit the hand brake and get to the 180deg mark, turn the steering wheel to the left and the car will then finish its 360. Think about what your car is doing, when you get to the 180deg mark, you still have the wheel turned to the right, picture that. The car is getting to the 180 and when it goes to move in the reverse direction (to finish the 360) it is having to fight your front wheels. If you turn the wheels to the left when you get the 180, you are helping the car to continue in the correct direction to finish the 360. When you're in the cone zone lift off the gas and use only the hand brake while turning hard right. Drop down to 1st gear when your 270 degrees around and start on the gas at that point. -- Joe Marques Aaron Menchions <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:39WE4.43609$[email hidden]... > How the hell do I spin my car 360 degrees in the FActory driver mission? In addition to all the advice here, I'll add that I like to start the spin with a short turn to the left . This adds a little "whip" when I pull hard right to start the spin. This helps with the 90 degree turns, too. You see rally drivers do this. Tim.
