I picked up NFS-PU last weekend and I'm having a blast in Evolution
mode. However, I've gotten stuck in Test Driver. It's the third or
fourth "mission" I think, where you have to do a 360 between two rows of
cones and then, supposedly, drive between two cones that mark the
"finish line". I can't get this mission to end, no matter what I do. I
don't know if I just haven't executed the 360 properly, although I think
I have, but even so there should be a way to end the mission (without
using ESC). Anyine have any suggestions, experience wiht this?

And what would the right way be? Do you just mean the direction, or in how
you execute the spin? For instance, I seem to get the best spin if I downshift
to 1st as I release the handbrake. Is that enough to make it "wrong"? Or is
there something else specific that you have to do?

I usually start my turn just a tad early as I go into the cones to ensure
that I complete it inside the cones

the cones. To make it easy, take a little speed off, turn the wheel slightly
to the right and immediately hit the emergency brake. It'll come around and
if you're not going too fast you'll complete it before you leave the cone
area. I think I got off the emergency brake just after 180, but can't
remember for sure now. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy. I actaully
made the 2nd, double 360, in one try.

I got stuck here, too, but was able the next day to ace it on the first try.
Now I can do 360s all day. It's just one of those things. Here is my take
on it:
It is important to note that you have to rotate in the right direction
(indicated by the giant yellow arrows) and have to 'keep your speed up' for
the game to recognize your 360.
I head for the cones in 3rd, downshifting to 2nd and revving the heck out of
the car when I get to the cones. You can also get a running start at the
cones from either side to get up more speed. I enter towards the left
pointing towards the middle (of the cones) if I am going to be spinning
clockwise.
Crank the wheel all the way to the right and hit the parking brake. When you
are halfway through, release the parking brake and turn full opposite lock,
flooring the throttle. That's all there is to it.
You can try and envision your front wheels always trying to point where you
came from, in other words, when you are at 180 degrees, your front wheels
should be in the middle of turning the other way from where you turned them
first. By the time you finish the 2nd 180, your wheels are straight again.
It may also help you to envision that the 360 happens first by your back end
rotating around the front, then halfway through, the front starts to rotate
around the back.
Try driving around elsewhere in that infield pad and practicing the 360s
without the pressure of the cones being there. ONce you get the hang of it,
go through the cones. Make sure you learn this, because a little later they
will have you go through and do a 360, then around a cone and back through
doing another 360 in the other direction before coming to a rest where you
started.
It seems like once you do it, it suddenly makes sense and is easy to do. I
think I was trying too hard to hit timings just right or something and that
screwed me up. It was my first sloppy try the next day that worked, because
I wasn't concentrating very hard.
happy spinning,

Anyine have any suggestions, experience wiht this? What you have to do is make sure you do the 360 spin clockwise, make sure
the front wheels are past the cones, pull the handbrake, and hold it for
almost 270, and DONT accelerate, or you'll go outside the cones most of the
time, accelerate when you are straight. Works for me, hope this helps.

Maybe you did not complete it inside the cones?
It actually works without countersteering.
Ed, you will hear the bell, when you come out of the cones after doing it
right, if you don't hear it, something went wrong.

Just wanted to let everyone know I got it. Thanks for all of the help. I think
the advice to start tuening the wheel just before the cones was the most
helpful. Now if I could just get that Boxster delivered...
