I have now discovered VROC....and raced online last night for the first time. I know now that my life is over, I am destined for a life of on-line racing. Please tell my friends and family that I love them.....but now I have found a new love :). Thanks to BluemoonUK and DaveLeach who helped me to get on last night, hope to race against you again soon...and to the rest of the guys (who I cant remember the names) thanks aswell. Happy racing lads...see you soon on VROC Ash http://www.twistedtech.co.uk

Well done Ash. How did it go? Did you get on B.serve? It's pretty mental at the start of the races isn't it. I've found it's better to avoid qualifying, start at the back, let everyone crash and just drive past the wreckage!! Hey presto, 20th to 6th or so in one corner :) I might be on at the weekend so I'll look out for you. Kev

That makes two of us. I bought GPL in May '99 and just this week got a 768/128 GTE ADSL line installed. I did a 6 lap race at Monza last night via VROC and absolutely loved it! See you at the track!

It was excellent Kev.....and I wasnt actually that bad ! I just didnt know the circuits that well so I wasnt exactly on the pace. I thought that it would be jerky like Unreal / Quake when it got out of sink, but it is totally playable and you can race fairly well with eachother (apart from the odd jumping car). I got a nice ping of <200 to Bserve, even on my free ISP (Callnet0800.com). Thanks for the help, hope to race with you soon Ash Kev <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

LOL <stands> My name's Kevin and I'm....a VROCer <applause> -how did it start? Well, I got his CD from a shop you see, loaded it up and everything was OK. I could handle it. But then I got a modem..... I was going online once a week at first but it wasn't enough. I needed more, so then I started going on line several times and week and now I'm on line 24/7. I needed more laps. I couldn't help it. It pulls you in with no mercy <sob> Kev Tim Wheatley wrote:

> The problem is I dont want to stop......can someone help Don't worry, there's a natural cycle. Every few weeks you get cheesed off with the perpetual startline/T1 crashes (god only knows why this still happens... it's pure carelessness). But the longer you stay away, the more racing offline feels very "hollow". Andrew McP

Thought you should know that my wife nodded sagely as I read your post aloud... <g> Perhaps we should for GPL Anonymous. "Hi, my name is Brett and... I race GPL! (sob)" Welcome to club! Hate to admit it, but this weekend will be our first at the track with our real race car since I discovered GPL and I have to say that I've been feeling fairly ambivalent about it as I packed things up for tomorrow morning... Thinking about missing Zandvoort with the F2 Club because of this stupid SCCA race weekend. Wierd... Regards, Brett C. Cammack That's Racing! Motorsports Pompano Beach, FL
