Well a 60Mhz refresh rate in GPL sholdnt be a problem since hte game wont ru
n better than 36 FPS. SInce 1Mhz refresh rate can never equal more than 1 F
rame 60 is plenty (you would maz out at 60Mhz unless Vsnyc was disabled)
1 Mhz refresh means the screen refreshes 1 time per second.

I just took the plunge with my new Dell and installed Windows 2000. I was having
problems getting anything to work right with my new 64MB GeForce video card so I
figured what the heck.
Much to my surprise GPL is ROCK SOLID. I tried both the Nvidia drivers for Win2k
and the Dell drivers for my card. The only problem I have is that even though I
can run at incredible resolutions (all the way up to 1600x1200) it will only run
at 60Hz refresh :( The resolution/refresh rate of choice for this card would be
1280x1024 @ 100Hz.
Anyone have any idea's on how I can hack this?

> Anyone have any idea's on how I can hack this?
Hi!
GPL is using openGL so the same graphics/RR hack that is used for Quake3
should do the trick.
It involves opening up your nv4.inf file and changing a few settings.
Do a deja search for Quake3 and win2000 RR problems and I am sure you will
find the hack.
I found it!!! See the key below and notice that I changed the values of all the
1280x1024 resolutions to 100Hz. Also for GPL OGL_FlippingControl is set to "0".
This did the trick :) Yahoo!!!

I can sure tell the difference between 60Hz
and 120Hz - which I have decided to go with at 1024x768 rather than 100Hz at
1280x1024. I had some problems with texture tearing at the higher resolution and
fps wasn't where I wanted it. At 1024x768 120Hz refresh I get 36+ fps and no
problems with the graphics.

Please check your keyboard mapping!! I read a couple of your posts in this
newsgroup and found that a lot of words are twisted. It may also bey that your
"fingermapping" isn't correct.
Now to your remarks: First I would love to have a Monitor/VidCard combintation
operating at a 60MHz regresh rate. Secondly: screen-refresh rate hasn't got
anything to do with GPL's fps rate.
Third: 1MHz refresh rate would imply 1 million refreshes per second (imagine
GPL at 36MHz fps, wouldn't that be smooth!!)

Actually, it does. If your monitor has a refresh rate of 60Hz, and you
didn't check an option "disable V-sync", then the maximum framerate
you can expect is 30 fps......
