Onr review I saw said the steering was about equal and the ecci pedals
were better. I have a tsw2 modified and luv it. It is very close to
perfect. I dont know if you can get a stick shifter on the ecci. Of
course if you use paddles, that wont matter.

Before you buy.
<<These TSW and ECCI wheels are a dying race...FF wheels are getting better

get the same profit as TSW or ECCI do when selling one 'wheel' (read:

I'll take my TSW ANY day over a FF wheel. It's built alot better, and far more
precise. Plus the guys at Thomas Enterprises, are great if you have any
questions. I'm sure the ECCI's are the same way.
Is a ECCI worth the even greater cost than the TSW? Also, there appears to
be a lot of mention of TSW by the N3 community over on the Sierra forums.

Is the ECCI worth the extra cost over a TSW?
Also, there seems to be a lot of the N3 community using TSW (from what I see
over at the Sierra forum), are the F1 community also using this wheel? It
seems the GPL racers are always talking about LWFF, Act Labs and such.
Like, one time at bandcamp...
Just get one of the FF wheels... Logitech, Guillemot or Act Labs, all great
wheels... I have a Guillemot and a TSW Sport, I prefer my Guillemot over the
TSW all the time... TSW and ECCI wheels are just ways to overpriced, over
500 dollars for a wheel without FF? The FF wheels connect through USB which
is faster and more accurate as the gameport on my SB Live! If I look at my
TSW I really don't understand what makes it so expensive... I harldy has any
nice features (like FF yes and others). An upgrade for the TSW wheel (like
extra buttons, split axis etc. are criminally expensive, 150 f**king dollars
for 2 wires and a button? If you create it yourself you will be done for 1
dollar...
These TSW and ECCI wheels are a dying race...FF wheels are getting better
and cheaper. Then again... Logitech or Guillemot needs to sell 15 wheels to
get the same profit as TSW or ECCI do when selling one 'wheel' (read:
scraped togheter Radio Shack parts).

Here's my $.02. I orginally purchased an Act Labs FF unit. I didn't like
the feel of the wheel. The wheel was very notchy and did not seem that
precise. I went out and bought a Logitech Wingman Formula Force and was
very impressed with it. I returned the Act Labs and lived happily with the
LWFF for a few months. I then wanted something more substantial. I did
quite a bit of research of all the available wheels (TSW, ECCI, Ball Racing,
etc.) and decided upon a wheel from SRC
(http://www.mindspring.com/~srcwheel). I had quite a few problems getting
them to fill the order but they eventually did. I love this wheel. It is
very precise, well constructed and worth the money (but maybe not the
headaches of getting it delivered). I am a much better driver and GPL is
much more enjoyabel now. I thought I would miss force feedback much more,
but I don't really miss it at all. This isn't a plug for SRC, rather it's
an endorsement for all the companies that build upscale wheels. If you have
the money, I do think they are worth the price. If I had to do it all over
again I might go for the ECCI, but with the options I would choose it would
be 3 times the cost of my SRC ($1500 vs $500).
Sjon does have a point though about FF becoming more and more important to
driving sims. One of the reasons I selected the SRC is that it has enough
room inside the unit for modifications. Eventually I plan on mounting the
circuit board and motor from the LWFF into the SRC thereby creating a high
qualilty FF wheel. At the moment I don't miss FF so I'm not actively
pursuing this upgrade.
One other thing... The ECCI and SRC are not scrapped together Radio Shack
parts. The TSW may look a little industrial, but I'd imagine that it's also
built well. ECCI... spare parts, that's enough to make laugh. Have you
seen that thing?

TSW 2, Bulletproof.
TSW 2, Bulletproof.
An ECCI? "Scraped together" from Radio Shack parts?!
ROTFLMAO!!
I can't speak to the TSW, but I own an ECCI. The thing was designed and built
from the ground up. The mechanical parts seem to have been machined to airplane
tolerances, and the electronic parts are strictly first-class. As a whole, the
unit is a thing of beauty and virtually bulletproof. It ougghta be in a design
museum somewhere.
Is it overpriced? Depends on what you like to spend your money on. My only
regret about buying the ECCI is that my significant other -- I'm afraid she has
little appreciation for sim racing hardware -- won't let me display it behind
glass under soft light when it's not in use.
