I would be grateful if you could e-mail me the driver and give me instruction how to change the registry. Its so frustrating for me not to race for about ten weeks now. :-(( Jochen

GPL was my favorite game for over ayear. Suddenly it did not work with my systeme any longer - this was two months ago. I reinstalled W98 yesterday and booted a fresh system. My system is a P2-400 with 128 MB RAM, VIper550 TNT card .... I use the 1.2 patch for the UK version and the openGL patch. When I use the actual drivers from Nvidia, then GPL starts I can choose everything in the menus and I can start to race. The graphics are hardware accelerated, so the openGL patch works. BUT! I only get about 0.7 frames per second!? Usually I get 37 frames with my configuration (I have turned off several features, changed the core.ini file and so on). I tried an alternative: the drivers from my revelator 3D glasses. Then GPL starts and delivers a black screen. But this screen is functional, when I click right down on the screen I go from menu to menu and finally I can race. What a miracle! - racing works in this mode!! The framerate is not very good (20-27 without traffic), but the graphics are totally okay. Its obvious that GPL is extremely sensible to graphic card drivers. Which drivers are proven to work okay with my system, so I can race again? Jochen

The 2.08 nvidia detonator reference drivers are the best. Good frame rates, no lockups. Every newer driver has either had slower frame rates, graphic glitches or lockups in GPL. Keith. On 25 Apr 2000 07:23:02 GMT, "Jochen Heistermann" <[email hidden]> wrote:

I agree, 2.08 reference drivers, and you have to do a registry entry to get the mirrors working. Email me if you don't have the info.

Or emailing them to me? I'm annoyed by the poor performance of my system with GPL. It's a K6/2 400 with a TNT2Ultra. > Its obvious that GPL is extremely sensible to graphic card drivers. I've found GPL to be happy with just about any NVidia reference drivers, but TOCA2 (with my Logitech WingMan Formula) *only* works with 2.08... -- Richard.
