Hmm... From my limited experience driving different vehicles:
Quickest(acceleration) - Lotus
Hardest - Lotus
Fastest(top end) - Eagle
'Thrashable' - Ferrari
Easiest to learn - Cooper(Coventry)
Best - whichever one does the job you need to do on the track...<g>

Which is the best car in Grand Prix Legends?
Players gave their favourite GPL cars. Most called the Lotus the fastest but hardest to drive, while the Eagle, Ferrari, BRM, Honda and Brabham each had supporters depending on driving style. Several concluded that the best car is the one that suits the driver.

>My OPINIONS: (note that!) best through to worst
1)Lotus is easily the best car, but you need to be good to drive it to it's
full potential. Once you can drive it, you'll be very quick. Has a tendency
to break though
2)Eagle, fastest in a straight line, but weighs more, quite stable, but can
be hampered by its long wheelbase on tight turns. Fragile
3)Ferrari: Nice driveable engine, coupled with responsive handling make this
car ideal for slower circuits, but it lacks top speed.
4)Brabham: Small and nimble, with good acceleration, but far too skittish,
and low power. Only a contender because of Brabham's and Hulme's ability at
the wheel, and cast iron reliability
5) Honda: Plenty of horsepower, and quite stable, but lacks acceleration and
weighs tons. Has not been made as unreliable in GPL as it really was in '67
6)Cooper: Stable and easy to drive, but overweight, and engine isn't good
enough
7)BRM. Could've been great, but torque curve is abysmal, it handles like a
bus, and weighs about the same. sounds nice though.

Factually, it would be the Lotus.
IMHO, I enjoy the Honda more than any other car in GPL.

For some reason I like the Eagle most.
I got used too it and I'm having trouble with every other car.
It's more predictable than the Lotus and almost that fast.
The fastest car is the Lotus but I can't handle it. So personally I find it
isn't the best. In the hands of a pro in the other hand...

Only ever drive the cooper, haven't driven any other in quite a few
months, it may not be the fastest, or the lightest, but it can beat any
driver of lesser skillz +)

Yes, that's strong evidence for the validity of my speculations . . .your

I find it more predictable then the others. The Ferrari is
easier to learn in but I find it can be very annoying, it's not
easy to slide smoothly through a fast turn like you can in the
Lotus.
Personally I don't like the F1 Brabham or Eagle but the F3 or F2
Brabham is okay.
A good F1 car for rookies is the Cooper.

It is a real challange to set up well, but once you hit the sweet spot it
handles like a dream. Because of the poor torque and extra weight it makes
you concentrate on your lines and become a better driver as a result.
And there is nothing more satisfying than thrashing a lotus driver with it
;)
Marc
>What are you taliking about? ^^^^^^^^
I think you've just answered your own question :-)
Getting back on topic, for me it's the Ferrari. Fast and "chuckable",
what more do you need? :-)

I dont think there is a best car...i think theres just a best car for your
driving style. Im best in the Eagle and BRM. Totally opposite ends of the
spectrum but I do well in both. The lotus i actually find the opposite of what
everyone says it is which is twitchy and high strung...i find it slow and
unresponsive. The Cooper which is supposed to be easy to drive I find utterly
impossible to drive. The Ferrari is good, the Brabham is stable but slow, and
the Honda to me is just a total dud. Thats just my opinion though.
Chris
Ya' know , I drive the BRM almost exclusively lately and while the words
"challenging", "frustrating", "tail happy" , "wacky-ass-fun" and
"dirty-big-grin-inducing" come to mind I do have to admit that the word
"best" never occured to me.

all cars...I never really could stand the big lumbering old BRMs, Hondas,
and Coopers. Lotus is fastest, but hard to drive; Brabham is fast when top
speed isn't a huge issue (that is, in F1...in F2/F3 the tables are turned)
but it's down a good 50-odd horses or more to the other cars. Ferrari and
Eagle are similar in many respects, and setups convert between the two
easily...
