When my ego gets too battered by GPL, I like to jump into ICR2 and run a
few laps at Michigan. I am considering giving my V2 SLI/Herc thriller
setup to my son and getting a Voodoo3 (because the thriller keeps
screwing up Win98) but hate to give up ICR2. (Why is there a glide
patch for N2 and not for ICR2? Why is there not a contemporary Indy car
sim that doesn't s*ck?)
Is there anyway to run ICR2 with the V3 and have 3d? Also, my monitor
has both a 15 pin and a BNC cable hookup. Could I run a V3 and a
thriller or stealth 220 at the same time, disable the rendition card in
Windows and just switch my monitor to the rendition output in DOS and
play ICR2?
TIA
Not sure about the double vid cards. But a V2 1000 would play real
nice with your Herc. If your buying vid cards just for ICR2 don't...
it's such old technology you will REALLY limit yourself for any newer
products.
No the V3 cannot do any 3d for icr2. it's a shame. Any Rendition
card is, at best, 3 to 4 generations behind the new ones...that is just
tooo much to give up. Save your money. The V3 will be obsolet by the
end of May. A V5 or GeForce2 would be your best bet...but even those
may be superceded by this fall.
