Just take your time and learn the tracks...practice. With some upgrades
their pretty easy to outrun. Learn the shortcuts, follow the other cars a
few times and then race.

- The driver not being able to beat the game and whinging about it.
- Being impatient for a cheat.
- Not being able to sift through the older posts for the links to the
savegames at "blahblah"'s Hacks page (forgot his name).

mentioned dozens of times here, admittently most frequently with reference
to using 3Dfx Glide instead of D3D, but still, shouldn't have been hard to
find.
You really should be able to beat the game tho', it ain't that hard. Where
are you stuck?
BTW: having a lousy memory doesn't make me an asshole, IMO. Had you said
something like "I'm stuck at so and so, please help." I might have been more
forthcoming.
