Kevin, are you sitting down? The last copy of At Speed I was able to find on the net was over US $750.00. Jesse has been a good friend for many years and even he can't find me a copy! Keep looking though, they are out there. I lost out on one on Ebay a while back, but it was water damaged and I just couldn't justify $250.00 for a damaged book. There's a $100 finders fee for anyone who can find me a copy at a reasonable price<g>. -- don New Programmes for Converted GPL Tracks http://www.ianparker1.clara.co.uk/clara.net/i/a/n/ianparker1/webspace/gpl/

Don't know a web reference, but Louis Klemantaski was one of the all-time great photographers of racing cars. - Michael
A good place to start might be at the Watkins Glen Motor Racing Research Library <www.racingarchives.org>. The original Watkins GP posters were prints of paintings, done by a well known racing artist (forgot his name). The library has a big art/poster collection. On Thu, 25 May 2000, Kai Fuller wrote:

My favourite motorsport artist is Michael Turner. He's been at it since the 1950s, and has turned out some wonderful stuff. Have a look here: http://www.net-link.net/motorsportcollector/MTBio.html HTH. -- David. "After all, a mere thousand yards - such a harmless little knoll, really." (Raymond Mays on Shelsley Walsh)

Who are some famous Photographers or artists of current or old time motorsports that I can get plenty of biographical information as well as images of their work off the net? I'm doing a Artist Profile for a Photojournalism course I'm taking, and was thinking that there have been some great photographers and painters of the past (and present) in relation to GPL. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might try searcing for Michael Turner. I refurbed a digital photo of one of his paintings of a '67 Lotus - available at The Fast Lane: http://www.the-fastlane.com/desktop.htm I think he's done a lot more racing pictures... --David Cook In article <IslX4.121502$[email hidden]>, [email hidden] wrote...

I've been wanting a copy of "At Speed" since it came out. Guess I better check Amazon for out of print books. Judging what I've just had to pay for an out of print L.J.K. Setright I think I'd better get ready for some serious sticker shock though.
