Same here Phil I think all these addons, cars, tracks, patches, etc.. have slowed the game down lol

Anyone else experienced slow-downs with GPL ? It was running fine, but now everything seems to be going at about 20% slower than it should do.. I'm still getting 36fps everywhere, and I can repeat it using both joystick drivers, any resolution, car, track. The joystick drivers have been calibrating with weird values recently, so maybe that's the cause? Trying to anticipate what the car is going to do is rather a black art- although I expect with some practice I'll be going rather fast.... Anyone ? Cheers, Phil

I was thinking that the other day! It would be interesting to re-install to another HD and check the difference. J. P. Hovercraft TRUSRS85 wrote:

Now these phenomenon are fairly common. I am ALSO getting odd frame rate hits. Not a slow down, sporadic, come to a video halt, hits. For up to a second. It can be very disconcerting. Now, the fact of the matter is that I *DO* have a seperate backup drive sitting on the shelf with a box stock GPL install, DX 5, and original V2 drivers. Guess I'll have to pull it out, do some drive swapping and comparison, and get back to you.

Thanks, but I have v1.2. Maybe it's because I keep editing bits of the game that I shouldn't be editing :-D Phil Dave Henrie wrote:

Just rename the GPL-folder and reinstall a fresh GPL-version. To return you only need to copy the renamed folder into the active one.
