★ Landmark threadPapyrus releases beta GPL patch to reduce disconnects

Papyrus's Randy Cassidy announced a beta patch for Grand Prix Legends that should greatly reduce multiplayer disconnects. Members thanked Papyrus for still supporting a two-year-old title, joked about wanting a CART sim, and swapped installation tips. Dave Henrie suggested that the fix came from recent NASCAR 3 multiplayer work.

Are you kidding, I'm hoping for a V5 patch so GPL will run with FSAA enabled on my 5500. Patch, patch! Don't ever stop patching, anything you learn patching GPL can be used in the next 6 NASCAR titles! <G> "ymenard" <[email hidden]> wrote in message > I speculate soon a post by Tracey Miller flaming Papyrus for stilldoing > work on this POS game called GPL. I don't know what happened but when I downloaded this file from sportplanet to my GPL dir. The computer locked (before even running the file) and had to do a hard re-boot. When the computer restarted it ran scandisk and said something about a long file name. I then went to my GPL dir and the only file left was the file I download from sport planet in the old DOS file name format. Maybe it was a freak accident or something but thought others should be aware and also might shed some light on what might have happen. Guess I go back and re-install GPL and patches. * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet's Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet - Free!

I would like to say that Papy deserves a whole lot of thanks from the entire sim community for showing that they are still interested in making the best sims even batter. There has been some slight bashing over the company for selling out to the Nascar market, but this shows that they are willing to go out of their way to make a patch for a game that isn't going to be selling many more copies, but is strongly supported by the sim community. My Hat goes of to the great folks and Papyrus, keep up the good work. Randy Cassidy <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8h3jr8$q3d$[email hidden]...
