I too got the "unable to load track" message when I tired the new
Lotus dash. After converting the Dash7.mip from the download to a
.bmp I noticed that the .bmp size was 512 X 256. The original
Dash7.mip converted to a .bmp that was 256 X 128. I resized the new
dash .bmp to 256 X 128, converted it back to a .mip and stuck it in my
Lotus folder and now it works fine. The question is now whether I can
get used to the glare on the glass on the gauges. My apologies to Ken
Drouillard for messing with his files.
was that confusing

To email me remove the "u"s
Can you mail Ken the file and let him test it? I am having the same problem
(V3, 1024 resolution), so you could also mail it to me and I'll post here
with the results. How could one system re-size this mip to the correct
size, yet others do not?
Marc.

convert it using Noonan's GPL MIP program and I get a 1KB .bmp output file
(obviously not valid). It reports that it is a transparent image, but the
output is useless. What converter did you use? What is the file date/size
stamp on your dash7.mip?
Thanks,
Marc.

tested it here and it works just as well as first revision, resolution does
drop though....

Good solution. GPL is not designed to deal with textures sized larger
than 256x256 - some rasterisers may bomb out, and some graphics cards
(such as Voodoo 1's, 2's and 3's) can't handle textures any larger than
256x256 either. Have you tried scaling the 512x256 mip down to a 256x256
mip? I'm not sure if that will view correctly, but if it does it would
maximise possible dash resolution.

hmm, that IS unfortunate....it seems a great deal of people can actually run
the larger mip which is 512 X 256 though....
