Ok, ok, sorry, I know these questions have been asked before. See? If we
had an SCGT utility patch FAQ I could look there.
But let me first say that last night I hooked up my new Andretti Wheel,
loaded up SCGT, and zammo - three and a half hours down before I knew
it. What a fun sim. Sticky grass, though, and not the good kind of
sticky grass. I suppose the patch fixes this.
But, since we don't:
1) I installed the really big patch - now I have no engine sound.. (But
- I must admit - there is something wickedly, fiercely cool about
whipping around the track and just hearing the road and wind noise...)
2) Ok, I see a bunch of cars. No tracks, though... is there some setting
where I can pick any car and any track without having to win money
first?
3) I saw a post about, "if you get nothing else, get the advanced
editor" or something like that which seemed to indicate it was a physics
tweaker or something. Any leads as to what it is/where I can get it?
4) How are additional tracks created for this thing?
More questions coming soon, probably.
thanks!
Andrew
A. You need the official v1.551 patch. just because..no specific
reason.
B. You NEED the Advanced Options Editor(AoE) that gets rid of the
sticky grass and makes the sim a bit more of a challenge
C. You need to find the proper sounds for some of the cars included in
the Service Pak 3.0. Check out revved's soundpak and other sound utils
from various sites. Using the vehedit program you can find each car's
file name and the names of the sound files needed.
D. To get the extra cars and tracks you need to CHEAT! Start a career
mode(best if completely new) and type the following
isi-cheeseman(then enter) you should see the 'cheat mode enable message'
isi-tbone
and
isi-aardvark
these should give you plenty of cash to buy cars and all the tracks.
theuspits.com has a listing of the 2 or 3 other cheat codes as well.
E. I have no #$## clue how they tracks are made other than they take a
3d editor and warp the original tracks into different shapes and sizes
or (as in Silverstone) they take an existing Toca Touring Car Challenge
track(Toca II) and use the 3d editor to convert it to work with SCGT.

just download a add-on car on the web and place the files in \Patch\
directory.
Then buy the car, then turn off the game, edit the VEH file of the car and
change the "vehcost=20000" (for example) to "vehcost=500000000".
Then, turn on the game and sell this car.
Eh, you just win 250000000 $.
You can now buy all the cars you want.
