Not sure about the first question, but I've used Radio Shack 100k pots in my
TM Nascar Pro before and they work pretty good for a while.
Have you tried cleaning the one you have? Take it out, bend the little tabs
back, remove the plastic matieral and clean it with a pencil eraser, same
for the metal contacts. Finish up with some contact cleaner. Don't remove
the grease on the back part. I did mine the other day, and now its
literally like having a brand new wheel.
