I didn't test GeForce 2 with F1 2000, but with V5 5500 4x FSAA, it does make a huge difference in term of graphics. All of the jaggies are gone! I highly recommend Voodoo 5 over Geforce card grc <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

from the benchmarks I have seen, the answer would be yes for both the geforce 1 and 2. But the cost right now is a bit extreme for the fairly small improvement in frame rate on those games.

What I can't beleive is, that with all the great racing games out right now, F1 2000 is the one you are playing. -- Kevin Anderson [email hidden] --------------------------------------------------- DK-Racing #15 K_Anderson ------------------------------------------------- http://www.awtech.net/ "grc" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > I primarily play EA F1 2000 and Nascar 2000 > I am resonable happy with the frame rates, but would always like > better. > > Question........... > > would a new Gelforce card out perform my TNT2 ,I understand they are > both 32 meg, the former is far more expensive and freinds have told me > it would increase my frame rate. > > I dont really want to spend the money, but if the expected improvment > is high I am prepared to. > > would appreciate the sim racers point of view. > > cheers > > Glenn > Australia

I primarily play EA F1 2000 and Nascar 2000 I am resonable happy with the frame rates, but would always like better. Question........... would a new Gelforce card out perform my TNT2 ,I understand they are both 32 meg, the former is far more expensive and freinds have told me it would increase my frame rate. I dont really want to spend the money, but if the expected improvment is high I am prepared to. would appreciate the sim racers point of view. cheers Glenn Australia

Would there be a difference in performance between the PCI and AGP versions? For my next system, it's really tempting to get a PCI Voodoo for GPL, etc, to sit beside an AGP GeForce and switch between the two as desired. Or would it be difficult to get them to coexist in one machine? ...Klinn "David Buttery" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Alien51 computers have been doing this for the last few months, however they have the benefit of using drivers specifically written for this by the Metabyte folks who put out the wickedgl for 3dfx. I "can" be done, but I'm not sure how easy it is... dave henrie Klinn wrote:

why don't you only se the voodoo. I think I have the same board with a stupid stuck in intel card. is there any benefit with the Intel?? -- Kieran David Buttery <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > On Sat 17 Jun 2000 08:52:22pm, Klinn wrote: > > >Would there be a difference in performance between the PCI and AGP > >versions? > > Dunno. Make Windows believe you have two monitors, one runnning off the AGP and one off the PCI. When you want to switch, turn off the machine and plug the monitor lead into the appropriate port. Reboot, and go into the BIOS setup. Somewhere there should be a setting telling the PC where to look first for its graphics signal. Change this as appropriate. This is an almighty kludge, but more or less this strategy works fine for my PC with an integrated Intel 810 AGP and a V3 2000 PCI (though, now I've got the screen refresh sorted out, I just stick with the 3dfx card - 800x600 is easily high-res enough for GPL on a 15" screen). -- David. Also, the Intel is (in theory) an AGP card, which allows some extra effects. Having said that, though, 800x600 is enough for me, so I'm really just keeping the Intel as a backup. -- David.
