You've just jumped another plateau. Now try getting under 8 seconds or 8:10
for that matter ;-) It will not be that easy. I stayed at 8:30 myself.

Chasing a negative GPLRank handicap at the Ring
Players shared progress towards a negative GPLRank handicap, mostly through big gains at the Nurburgring. Sebastien Tixier cut his Ring time from 8:51 to 8:18 over a week, and others discussed plateaus and consistency, with Don Scurlock noting a league driver who lapped the Ring almost identically lap after lap. Uwe Schuerkamp explained the site's driver search.

Yesterday I had one of the great "events" of my GPL career. I drove multiple
laps of the 'ring all within .3 seconds of each other. It just floored me to
all of a sudden have that sort of consistency at a track like the 'ring.
Something has obviously "clicked" for me. Speed will come.
At the Glen I've driven multiple consecutive laps equal to the thousandth,
but I think this 'ring perfomance is an order of magnitude more satisfying.

Excellent Kevin. On that subject, I was checking our Ring league race
in SpyGirl, and Steve Brunt did four laps of the five lap race at
8:58, and three of them were 8:58.5xx, and two were identical to the
thousandth of a second, at 8:58.568! Not super fast but extremely
consistent.

heh :) I did a little comparison of our times. the times are sooo close on
every track: +1,07; +0,17; +0,40; -0,18; +1,23; -0,21; +1,08; -1,23; -3,06;
+0,12; +1,49.
Your best lap at Spa is over 3 seconds faster than mine so I think i can
snatch a little time there (or is this that the track you have done 30 000
laps on? :)). At Zandvoort I have 1 sec faster time so maybe you have
couple of seconds hiding there.
> can feel it :o)))) ( somme pressure on you could help me :o)) )
Heh, ok. I hereby challenge you to break 8:25 at ring!! (gonna do it myself
if I got what it takes, at least im gonna beat that 0,21 sec gap!)

I broke my pb at ring and have the same time there (8:31). My handicap is
+6.22 so im in a next position in front of you :)
Whats your nickname on that horrible buddy-list combobox (They really should
make the search so that CTRL + F is accessible or that the list is sorted by
real name). I just have to see if there is noticeable differences beetween
you and me on any track (so that if there is i know where to snatch those
tenths).
Cheers,

8:20 is a good target...i always aim for 8:17-8:20 range. My luckiest lap is
8:11, but whenever i try to run sub 8:15 i crash...
So sub 8:20's are definitely achievable, but i stand in awe at those sub
8min guys...Truly incredible driving.
Cheers Phil

I agree it's difficult to find people sometimes. If you know any part of their
real name or there nickname, use "Search Driver Database" to find the rest. It
would help if people would just use their full names instead of nicknames. On
the other hand, some people are only known around here and in online racing by
their nicknames. We do it to ourselves.

It really appears as though you have a deep fire burning within to get
that Ring time down and, if it continues, I'm sure you will know the
track by hearth pretty soon. :)

Gongrats! I got myself also below 8:25 time at the ring. 8:26 first with a
minor spin and 8:20 without any spins. Now Im hanging somewhere -5 seconds
in handicap :)
> Nop, i can improve Spa too, Monza and Glen are tracks that is verydifficult to
Yeah, and even if you could pull out the perfect lap it would only be some
tenths, those times are so good. It looks like the only way to seriously cut
the time is to wrestle in the ring :)
BTW, those calculations i posted earlier had some tiny mistakes (i
calculated them myself cause i didnt know there was an option in GPLrank
which would have done it for me automatically)

Youre right. It seems I was too busy judging the GPLrank system before I
tried all options :)

Done ! I know it by hearth :o) i've made a 8:18.75 with a big mistake in the turn
before the last turn in 3rd before the big straight, i've pass it too fast ,
oversteer and hit the fences on left. I think i'v lost 5 or 6 secondes here :o) but,
i was to tired of this tracks so i've improved all my other PB :o))))
