I know how GPL Rank calculates your handicap, but which lap time from
the player.ini file does it use? Only your best at each track, or an
average of all ten at each track?
I was playing around last night to see if I could change my handicap.
I started with a -27 sec handicap with my original player.ini. I then
went into the .ini file and removed all but my single fastest lap at
each track (I have some real stinkers in the BRM) and my handicap was
reduced to -25.5, which confused me.
I've since put back my original .ini file and intend to leave it
there. I just want to find out how to make legitimate improvements.
Should I jump in the lotus and hotlap (if GPL Rank uses only the single
fastest lap)? Or should I try to run quick practice, race and training
laps in each and every car available (if GPL Rank uses an average time
at each track)?

The single all time best lap, regardless of car or mode. Which is exactly the
same way the game does it in your Best Laps page.

This shouldn't be Cris. What may have happened: There has be a slight problem
in GPLRank in that it didn't always choose your best lap. Uwe has just fixed
this today, and you may have bypassed the problem by editing your ini file, and
experienced a recalulation of the same lap times.

As I mentioned, it takes the all time best lap regardless of car or mode, but
if you want to positively trust your new PBs, then do them, or repeat them,
offline, to eliminate the possibility of bogus times from clock smashes.
