Oh my god
One word FUCKIN AWESOME well maybe two little words !!
GE-force DDR running at 1152x864 full detail all 19 cars and super smooth.
Thanks for the patch its made it a new game , kinda makes me think if GP3
will live upto this framerate ?
Thanks again PAPY GUYS
YOU ARE GOD
It is awesome, especially considering N4 is going to run in D3D rather than
glide. Going to make it a lot easier for their Nascar fans who have voodoo
cards to upgrade knowing they'll be able to run GPL in d3d.

Very good work here. I have NEVER been able to play GPL on my system,
have tried twice since the game was released. Well with the new D3D7
patch it works like a charm. This is what I think good support is
about, not releasing a title and moving on to the next project.

wait don't throw it away, send me that V3!
btw. the patch does seem to work with the demo as well (with my TNT1)
although the mirrors aren't rendering correctly (looks like TV 'snow' frozen
in time)
so if anyone wants to try the demo, now that their cards will work with the
game, goto papy.com!

While continued support is apreciated, bear in mind that what we're getting
here is just the natural fallout FROM the next project. Things they've done
for N4 where it's basically "no skin off their nose" to make it available
for GPL. They arn't really doing any new programing for GPL.
If they REALLY want to support GPL, let 'em put in weather, pit stops, and a
full F2/F3 model. :)
I'm afraid that isn't likely to happen, because they are on to the next
project.

for the personal dedication of the sim heads at Papy, we wouldn't be using
this patch. Sierra, or EA, or any others would no more give resources to
this (i.e., to help their loyal customers) than fly to the moon.

You are certainly correct there, as is evidenced by the fact that this patch
came from Papy, not Sierra. Sierra would probably be annoyed that Randy
Cassidy took a valuable 15 minutes of his lunch hour to write the anti-disco
patch.
As for EA, the Advanced Options editor for SCGT came from a group known only
as "Friends of ISI". Not EA. Smells like a skunk works to me.

Hell, I think a lot of folks would be willing just to settle for the
option to run F2/F3 in World Championship mode. I know I would.

Actually, the patch was done by Grant Reeve on his own time. (And Eric did
the installer, during lunch :) ).
