To play GP2 on a LAN, you need a program called GP2LAP. Last time I looked you could get it from: http://www.xs4all.nl/~rsdi/gp2lap/ And read the readme file. Its a dos program (as is GP2) and a bit tempremental, but I've had it working on my home LAN (under win95) before now. Make sure all the installations of GP2 are exactly the same on each pc, If you do use any patches or utilities, even load them on each pc in the same order! Have fun.... 8-) *Peter* - http://www.cix.co.uk/~peterpc/home.html

We just got all of our computers at the office networked together (I know... welcome to the 20th century!) Anyhoo, after realizing how much this will help our business run smoother, my first thought was, "Damn! After work we can drink beer & play GP2 over the network against each other!" Since there are no 3d cards in our puters this is the only game of any worth IMO. Ok... So I go into the multi-player menu (something I've never even done before) and begin to look at settings or hookups intended for use with a few beer drinking guys in an office after hours. I see no such setting. Realizing my shortcomings in the grey-matter department I instantly think of R.A.S. "These guys know everything!" I say to myself... "They'll figger it out!" Which is where I'm at now. Is this possible, or am I pissing into the wind. Any help would be greatly appreciated, almost to the point of us guys dedicating our first LAN race to RAS... Anybody? Warlock!

Sadly, GP2 can only be played with a maximum of two players. Originally, GP2 could only be linked up via modem or serial cable with acceptable results. An add-on program called GP2Lap could, among other things, implement basic IPX networking functionality, either using Win95/98 32-bit drivers or you had to supply your own real mode drivers for your NIC's if playing under DOS. Although this was an impressive bit of coding, the speed if the link was, IMHO, not much better than a serial link. The other drawback is that still only two players can link using this method. Like all things GP2, the the add-on and links are somewhat ancient now. However, if you wish to give this add-on a try, here are the last known locations of GP2Lap www.GrandPrix2.com www.xs4all.nl/~rsdi/gp2lap/ www.SaarMarkt.de/GP2 www.GP2.com Good luck...
