I have a Sprint wheel, and I'm having trouble with it shifting on it's own. I
use the paddles on the back for up and downshifts. I'll be heading down the
front straight at Barcelona, and all of a sudden it'll shift into reverse!!!
Or, I'll be in first at the Lowes Hairpin and it'll hammer up to 4th or 5th
gear on it's own. I've recalibrated it every time I play F1-2000 and it
doesn't help.
Thanks in advance,
R

Sounds like the wires inside that run through the wheel and down the
shaft have been rubbed raw (insulation worn through) and are shorting
when you turn the wheel. You may want to open it up and see if you can
wrap them with electrical tape,

Thanks for your advice on my wheel. One thing that I noticed is that I don't
have a shift problem when playing SportsCar GT. That gives me the feeling that
it's something in the game. I do notice that on certain tracks at specific
points, it shifts on it's own. Maybe I have a lowsy framerate and it's jolting
everything. I'll continue to look at it. When I get desperate, I'll pull the
back off the wheel.
Thanks,
Rod
