GPL + D3D + Savage = :-(

1 post by 1 person · 27 Jun 2000 - 27 Jun 2000

So I fidgeted for 8 hours at work until I could get home (to my dusty GPL CD) and try the D3D patch on my computer. A note: the computer is a Toshiba notebook, with a Savage IX chip in it (basically a 0.18 micron Savage4 core). The short answer is, still no luck. The ultimate GPL Lan party machine will still have to wait. Boo hoo. I fiddled with all the core.ini settings (I have DX7), but it kept crashing back to the desktop without even displaying the splash screen. A pity, really, as the chip itself isn't an utter dog. It manages to throw around some very lush NFS:Porsche visuals in D3D at up to 50fps at 800x600. An in the end, that's what my computer did last night. I gave up on GPL again and immersend myself once more in Ferry Porsche's lovely little world. Stephen
