Just a tip for people who have problems: If GPL hangs before you get to the options screen to set the D3D renderer, enter it directly in app.ini: lastRasterizerDLL = rastd3d7.dll Worked for me. And the game is a treat in D3D. teris "Phil Flack" <[email hidden]> skrev i melding news:[email hidden]...

Firstly, I installed the latest release G400 drivers: http://www.matrox.com/mga/drivers/files/w9x_552.htm then the latest Matrox G400 beta driver, http://www.matrox.com/mga/drivers/files/w9x_600.htm then DirectX7a, http://download.microsoft.com/download/win98SE/Update/7.0a/W9X/EN-US/DX7Aeng.exe and the Papy D3D patch: http://www.papy.com/downloads/gpl_d3d.exe and it works ! The G400 beta drivers may not be necessary, but it hasn't killed my system yet :) Phil Rolf Wesemann wrote:

On my system it was necessary to install the G400 beta driver. Now it's sweet! 1280x1024 and glassy smooth. ;-) "Rolf Wesemann" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Exactly, "repack NASCAR Racing 2 even two times". NASCAR Racing 2, 99, and 3. Y.Minami
Thanks great info! and, of course, Thank you for making great patch, Grant Reeve. I had trouble with G400s old BIOS and driver (ver 1.5 BIOS and ver 552 driver), and cannot run GPL with D3D in cockpit view. As your info, ver 1.6 BIOS and ver 600 beta driver output proper images. The images are even better than Voodoo3. Track side objects textures are more detailed. fences are too. and G400s good focus nature makes more crisp people figures, they looks like almost living. Though, there are beta patch and beta driver, hang-ups are really occasional. =( I cannot say which has the main problem, but am hoping to give up Voodoos blurred graphics image. I recommend Sierra/Papyrus not to repack NASCAR Racing 2 even three times, but support Mr. Grant Reeve to finish this patch , then repack GPL. Well, I don't know that it makes a difference to G400 users, but with the 5.52 drivers on a G200, it hasn't worked yet... (they use the same driver set) -- Kirk Lane [email hidden] Phil Flack <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Firstly, I installed the latest release G400 drivers: > > http://www.matrox.com/mga/drivers/files/w9x_552.htm > > then the latest Matrox G400 beta driver, > > http://www.matrox.com/mga/drivers/files/w9x_600.htm > > then DirectX7a, > > http://download.microsoft.com/download/win98SE/Update/7.0a/W9X/EN-US/DX7Aeng .exe > > and the Papy D3D patch: > > http://www.papy.com/downloads/gpl_d3d.exe > > and it works ! > > The G400 beta drivers may not be necessary, but it hasn't killed my > system yet :) > > Phil > > Rolf Wesemann wrote: > > > > Please tell me, how do you got it to work? > > > > thanks in advance, > > > > Rolf > > > > > > Phil Flack schrieb: > > > > > Sweet- at last I can run GPL properly. > > > > > > Now to run some benchmark tests.. > > > > > > (dx7a, Powerdesk 6.00 beta, d3d patch thingy, for anyone else trying to > > > get it to work) > > > > > > Phil
