Hold on to your hats out there - I'm about to undertake a fairly thorough test on both GPL and F12K, using D3D, 3DFX and OpenGL modes on both the V5-5500(64Mb) and Geforce2 GTS(32Mb). I plan to include results (FPS) using resolutions of 800, 1024 and 1280 game allowing (and my monitor with is 1280 at 60Hz) both with and without FSAA/ I'll post the results to the NG soon, and I'll also upload details and images for comparison to my website. Still very unplayable at that graphic settings on that particular machine BTW what is you configuration ) i would say :-( Can you get 25fps start/back of the grid/Monaco/1024x768? With what graphic settings? Borut "Phil Flack" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Hi Keith, Testing F12K should be easy. It only supports D3D. You might want to add 640x480 for testing F12K. I can get a maximum of ~100fps at 640x480 on my P3-550 256mb V3-2000 but higher resolutions really cut down the frame-rates. Another thing I noticed about F12K is the cockpit view set to low detail and no mirrors is the fastest of them all (bumper view for example). You can use "R" to toggle the mirrors on and off. Jason. I thought I noticed a change... All details on, back of grid, 20 cars (AI) Monaco Monza Snetterton 1600x1200 In car Out car In car Out car In car Out car D3D 12.0 12.3 12.3 14.0 12.0 14.3 OpenGL 6.9 7.7 8.0 9.1 8.1 9.3 1280x1024 D3D 12.7 13.2 14.4 16.0 14.1 16.0 OpenGL 7.3 8.1 8.6 9.7 8.0 9.8 1024x768 D3D 13.5 14.4 15.8 17.6 15.8 17.6 OpenGL 7.7 8.6 9.1 10.3 9.3 10.6 Hmm.. exactly the same system, exactly the same graphics card - just different rasterizers. Average increase = 4.63fps (1600), 5.82fps (1280), 6.52fps (1024). By my maths that makes this the single most important thing for GPL since GPL ! Phil

Remember it's a G400 graphics card - not the best at fill rates ! System - Athlon800, 256mb, SB Live, far too many programs loaded at once :-D Graphic settings - everything maxxed out. 16 sounds as well. Maybe I'll try tweaking things, see what I can crank it up to. Does anyone have similar benchmarks ? Phil Borut Srebotnik wrote:
