Well first of all there is a sidebar of other shots at Tally and some other
tracks. What got me though, is that at first glance, I thought the rearview
mirror was another one of those shots, it's that detailed. It does have some
sheen coming off of it, which dulls it like a real mirror, but I hope that
it's dynamic, because it could get rather annoying.
It's a 3D cockpit with a steering wheel, (no hands\arms to be seen) but
what's amazing is that it's as sharp as the 2D cockpits, you can read all
the numbers clearly.
There are more gauges than before, but one is obscured by the wheel, maybe
it's a meaningless gauge. While oil pressure is there, unfortunately the
fuel load indicator is still there. I know papy thinks people will think
this is unrealistic or something, but haven't most NASCAR fans heard Benny
Parsons point out the fact that there is no gas gauge? Couldn't it be
togleable like the speed reading is?
That should be my only complaint about N4 screenshots. The cracks at Tally
aren't a big deal... and the switches may not be dynamic either, but who
cares... :)
This game looks AWESOME! :)
two smileys is too many...
That is a fuel pressure gauge (if you look close you'll see its
labeled as such and goes from 0-15PSI).

actually I did look really close at it Eric, but it was dark when I was
trying read the little writing under Fuel. I can read it just fine now in
full daylight. I thought it was a little weird actually that the fuel gauge
went to 15, but I wasn't going to get too picky. :)
so now the dashboard is fully authentic? A couple questions then...
How exactly does the fuel pressure gauge work, does it start dropping
suddenly when the fuel gets low or something? That was my understanding of
it. Secondly what is the gauge OIL TEMP and OIL PRESSURE? it starts with a W
but is obscured. It's not Water temp, that's visible....

There's a 2 page article in the latest issue of Computer Gaming World
that shows the cockpit.
