I wanted to like it (le mans, what's not to like), and yeah the night
transition is cool, and even an NFS5 model would have done, but this is
really really arcadish... No merit whatsoever winning....

It's a idea--with bad execution. Visuals are OK (not great), although the
transition from day to night and back looks really good. You can save the
game during pit stops with is a nice feature. Physics are questionable, the
cars on on rails and you rarely have to let up on the throttle. No in-car
view (!!), just some 3rd person view which didn't give any sensation of
speed until making the final 3 turns to the start/finish line. I just
didn't have fun with it. On the plus side, my 5 year old likes it (see
physics comment, doubt a 5 year old could drive a Le Mans car) and it keeps
him quiet so it wasn't a total waste.
I really wanted it to be a good game, I would love to run a 24 hour race.
Or have 2 motorhead friends over and do it the 'real' way. Just wasn't to
be.
If you thing there is an outside chance you may like it, pick it up at a
place you can return it so you have no risk. Then again, you can always set
up SCGT to run 1440 minutes, I guess.
I was bummed with this one.
